Backup & Data Recovery

What it is

Backup is the only protection that works no matter what happens: ransomware, a failed hard drive, an employee accidentally deleting a folder, a hosting provider that vanishes. We set up automatic backup systems following the 3-2-1 rule (three copies, on two media types, one off-site) for websites and databases, physical and virtual servers, office computers, NAS and Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace accounts, which have no built-in backup for deleted email and files. Setup starts at EUR 99, with storage billed monthly by volume. We also offer data recovery from failed media through a partner laboratory.

Technology & approach

We use Veeam for Windows servers and workstations, restic or BorgBackup for Linux and websites, Synology snapshots for NAS and dedicated solutions for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Copies go to S3 storage in the EU (Hetzner Object Storage, Backblaze, Wasabi) with encryption and immutability, and for clients with strict requirements we add an offline copy. We start with an inventory of critical data, agree together how old the latest backup may be (RPO) and how long a restore takes (RTO), set up the system and run the first test restore with you present. Every month you receive the backup report and the test result.
