This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, how we use them on mategeointernational.eu and how you can manage your preferences. It has been drafted in accordance with Directive 2002/58/EC on privacy and electronic communications (as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC), transposed into Romanian law by Law no. 506/2004, and with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). The website is operated by MATEGEO INTERNATIONAL SRL, Str. Prieteniei 1, Bl. L1, Sc. A, Et. P, Ap. 2, 710077 Botoșani, Romania, tax ID 47774229, J2023000161076, email contact@mategeointernational.eu.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. They allow the website to recognise your device, remember your preferences and work properly. Similar technologies include browser local storage (localStorage), tracking pixels and device identifiers. In this policy we use the term "cookies" for all these technologies.
Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (they remain until they expire or are deleted manually). They can be placed by us (first-party cookies) or by partners providing services on the website (third-party cookies).
2. How we obtain consent
On your first visit we display a cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are placed without consent because they are indispensable for the operation of the website (Article 4(6) of Law 506/2004). Analytics and marketing cookies are loaded only after you have given consent by pressing the corresponding button in the banner. You can accept all categories, decline the optional categories or choose individually. Declining does not limit access to the website's content. Your choice is stored locally in your browser for 12 months.
3. Categories of cookies used
3.1. Strictly necessary cookies
These ensure the basic operation of the website and remember your consent preferences. They cannot be disabled from the banner.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| mtc_consent | MATEGEO INTERNATIONAL (localStorage) | Remembers the choice made in the cookie banner (accepted/declined categories) so that the banner is not shown on every visit | 12 months |
3.2. Analytics cookies
These help us understand how the website is used (pages visited, visit duration, traffic source) so that we can improve its content and structure. Data is aggregated; the IP address is anonymised according to Google Analytics 4 settings. Loaded only with consent.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) | Unique identifier used to distinguish visitors and calculate traffic statistics | 2 years |
| ga* | Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) | Maintains session state for the Google Analytics 4 property | 2 years |
3.3. Marketing cookies
These are placed by our advertising partners to measure campaign effectiveness and to show relevant adverts on other platforms (remarketing). Loaded only with consent.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Meta Pixel) | Identifies the browser for conversion measurement and delivery of Facebook/Instagram adverts | 3 months |
| _ttp | TikTok Technology Ltd. (TikTok Pixel) | Identifies the visitor for conversion measurement and TikTok campaign optimisation | 13 months |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads (Google Ireland Ltd.) | Stores information about ad clicks for conversion attribution | 3 months |
This list may be updated when we add or remove tools. The current version is always published on this page.
4. How to change or withdraw your consent
Consent can be withdrawn at any time, as easily as it was given:
- By clearing the site data in your browser: deleting cookies and locally stored data for mategeointernational.eu removes the "mtc_consent" record, and the cookie banner will be displayed again on your next visit, allowing you to make a new choice.
- From your browser settings: you can block or delete cookies and configure the browser to warn you before a cookie is placed. Instructions: Google Chrome – Settings › Privacy and security › Cookies; Mozilla Firefox – Settings › Privacy & Security; Safari – Preferences › Privacy; Microsoft Edge – Settings › Cookies and site permissions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the operation of the website.
- Through our partners' tools: Google – adssettings.google.com and tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout; Meta – ad preference settings in your Facebook/Instagram account; TikTok – privacy settings in the app.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
5. Transfers to third parties
Google, Meta and TikTok may transfer data collected through cookies outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers take place on the basis of adequacy decisions (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or the Standard Contractual Clauses. Details can be found in the providers' policies: policies.google.com/privacy, facebook.com/privacy/policy, tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy.
6. Third-party links and content
The website may embed third-party content (maps, videos, share buttons) and links to the websites of our clients and partners. These third parties may place their own cookies, over which we have no control. We recommend that you review their privacy policies.
7. Personal data
Information collected through cookies may constitute personal data. Its processing, your rights (access, erasure, objection, complaint to the ANSPDCP – www.dataprotection.ro) and how to exercise them are described in our Privacy Policy.
