Our creative studio works, on average, on three to four visual identities a month: new companies, rebrands, expansions into other countries. Almost every rebranding project begins with the same sentence: “we did the logo in a hurry, at the start, and now it gets in our way”. Bad branding does not hurt immediately; it hurts when you want to grow. Here are the seven mistakes we see most often and what we do to correct them.
1. The logo made “for now”
It is the most frequent and the most expensive mistake, because “for now” lasts, on average, five years. A 10-euro logo from a freelancer marketplace or an automatic generator usually comes without vector files, without versions for dark backgrounds, without usage rules and, often, with elements taken from a stock library used by two hundred other companies.
The fix: an identity package done once, properly. Our Brand Kit starts at 249 EUR and includes a logo in three variants, palette, fonts and all source files. It is cheaper than reprinting all your materials in two years' time.
2. Colours chosen by taste, not by market
“I like blue” is not a strategy. Colours convey messages and positioning: a dental practice in bright red or a transport company in pastel pink is fighting the customer's expectations before saying a word. Just as damaging is choosing the same colour as the market leader – you become a smaller copy.
The fix: we analyse the competition in your city or industry before proposing the palette. The goal is to be recognisable at a glance from three metres away, on a banner or on a phone screen.
3. A name that is impossible to pronounce, spell or find
Names with doubled letters, combinations of initials, words in languages your customers do not speak, or names for which the .ro domain is already taken. The simple test: say the name over the phone to a stranger and ask them to search for it on Google. If they do not find you first time, you have a problem that will cost you every day.
The fix: we check the availability of the domain, the social media handles and the trademark at the national office before choosing the final name. For clients in Italy, such as Creo Art Casa or GioSpeed, we check the local market too.
4. Inconsistency: one brand on the website, another on Facebook, another on the van
The logo stretched on the vehicle wrap, a different shade of blue on the business cards, a different font on the Instagram posts. Every deviation erodes trust, because the customer perceives, even unconsciously, the lack of rigour.
The fix: the brand manual. Brand Kit PRO includes clear rules for spacing, minimum sizes, permitted variants and social media templates, so anyone on the team can produce correct materials without calling the designer.
5. A brand built only for screen (or only for print)
A logo with fine gradients and shadows looks superb on a monitor and becomes a blot on a stamp, an embroidery or an illuminated sign. Conversely, a logo designed only for print can be illegible as a 32-pixel app icon.
The fix: we test every identity in at least ten real applications before delivery: business card, letterhead, e-mail signature, Instagram avatar, favicon, vehicle wrap, uniform, shop sign, packaging and presentation. For Taxi Milu, the logo was designed from the outset for the car door and the app screen in equal measure.
6. Copying trends
This year everyone wants minimalism with a geometric font; last year it was gradients; before that, the “flat” look. A brand built on a trend ages in two years and looks identical to the competition.
The fix: we start from what is specific to your business – its history, its city, its promise, its tone – and only then choose the form. A good brand from 2026 must look just as good in 2036. Tradition and seriousness never go out of fashion.
7. The brand that stops at the logo
The logo is 10% of the brand. The rest is how you answer the phone, how the quote sent by e-mail looks, the tone you use in posts, what the vehicles and uniforms look like, what the customer feels when walking into your premises. Companies that invest in a good logo and then send quotes in a word processor with default fonts lose exactly what they paid for.
The fix: we deliver the brand together with the everyday tools: quote template, invoice template, company presentation, e-mail signature, tone-of-voice guide. And our studio handles production too: business cards, uniforms, signage, vehicle wraps – the same brand, everywhere.
When it is time for a rebrand
- The name or logo no longer reflects what you do (you have added services, entered other markets).
- Customers confuse you with a competitor.
- Materials look inconsistent and you are embarrassed to send the company presentation.
- You are preparing for funding, franchising or expansion into another country.
- The brand is over 10 years old and has never been updated.
A rebrand does not necessarily mean radical change. Most of the time it is a clean-up: the same name, a clearer form, application rules and materials remade coherently.
What it costs to do it right from the start
A complete Brand Kit costs 249 EUR, the PRO version with brand manual and templates 449 EUR, and the START Digital package, which combines the brand with the website and the Google profile, starts at 690 EUR. All are delivered in 7-10 working days, with two rounds of revisions included, and belong to you in full. Use the calculator to combine branding with the printed materials you need.
A brand is the promise you make before the customer has called you. It deserves to be one you can keep.
